Planning a trip to Burgundy? We would love to welcome you at La Malinette. Follow the Grands Crus wine route, explore Dijon—the historic capital of the Dukes of Burgundy—and its food culture, visit outstanding museums and remarkable heritage sites just a stone’s throw from our guesthouse. Looking for rest, organic local food and gentle walks? You’re welcome in Mâlain, a charming village where life is good 🙂.
Breakfast is included. We serve organic, often local produce for a wholesome start to the day—it’s much nicer to head out after a good breakfast than on an empty stomach!
Our village is full of thoughtful producers; that’s why we try to share the best of the area around La Malinette.
🌿 To enjoy more of what Burgundy offers, visit Baum’Plantes—about ten minutes away—for natural balms, herbal teas and aromatic plants.
The house is a piece of history. Built in the 17th century in Mâlain, it has been extended and adapted ever since.
📜 Even today, traditions live on: from owner to owner, stories, souvenirs and archives are passed down.
Thick walls and a peaceful setting guarantee the rest you came for.
With this timeless character, La Malinette still welcomes you warmly in Burgundy.
🌲 Mâlain is surrounded by forests and wash houses dot the hills. Take a few hours on footpaths starting from La Malinette—we’ll gladly share maps for cycling or hiking. The bolder can hike toward Alésia along the Roman road from nearby Sombernon.
Nearby lakes offer lovely swimming spots 🏊♀️—Grosbois-en-Montagne and Panthier among them. Children enjoy the Parc de l’Auxois, between water park and wildlife park—perfect for a sunny outing.
Food lovers: stop by the « Champs Libres » community farm for local bread, craft beer and goat’s cheese from the village.
Mâlain was once the largest settlement in the Côte-d’Or in Celtic times. You can still visit the ancient town of Mediolanum (by appointment) and the medieval castle being restored. Our B&B is an ideal starting point for your holiday.
Every two years the village hosts the “Fête des Sorcières” festival—up to 30,000 visitors over two days! The next edition was planned for 2024; here is a video taste:
La Malinette is in Mâlain (21) and offers a fenced private car park under CCTV.
Halfway between northern Europe and the sunny south, it is a perfect break on a long drive. 15 minutes from the A6 motorway, you enjoy countryside calm without going far off route. Dijon is about 20 minutes away.
A wedding, a golf tournament or a motorsport weekend? La Malinette is here for you.
We host guests for many sports or family events thanks to our proximity to Domaine de Pont de Pany, Golf de la Chassagne and Dijon-Prenois circuit.
Our monitored courtyard keeps vehicles safe; exceptional cars can use a covered space.
🚴 Cyclists are 15 minutes (4 km) from the Burgundy canal cycle route at Pont de Pany.
La Malinette is a great stop on long journeys for a last countryside night before Dijon.
Bikes can be stored dry in our barn and charged at no extra cost.
